Television and Film

December 18th, 2007

These were sometimes serious dramatic parts as in “MAN OF…” directd by Konrad Szojlaski  where I played a B.B.C.  journalist. Though the film was a serious parody of the work of the cinematic genius Andrzej Wajda…the acting style was totally naturalistic. This was the first significant film of Konrad Szojlaski. Konrad has gone on to make profoundly significant contributions to Polish film with his ‘pythonesque’ humourSomehow for me my television and film work has seemed to cross fertilize itself. My reputation as a comic character actor was considerably enhanced by continual presence in “TELEEXPRESS” Poland’s most popular news programme watched regularly by millions of Poles. The comic path was also enriched by working with some of Poland’s leading  actors in a light hearted musical sideways look at Hollywood life in Piotr Polk’s; “LET’S HAVE FUN IN HOLLYWOOD”.      During the course of 2008 there were a number of Radio interviews with Gateway Radio! These concerned my experiences in the realms of Polish culture as well as discussions about Witkacy 2009. Quite a considerable amount might be said of my involvement in Film, Television and Radio. I have been significantly active in these realms. I have a very expressive memorable face, a good on screen presence and an interesting voice with a variation of possibilities. Visitors to this site are encouraged to refer to the Show Reel section of this site. Examples of Acting, Presenting, Narration and Voice Over can be seen.Probably the most significant initial acting role was in Kryzstof  Lange’s “PAPER MARRIAGE”. This was perhaps the first meaningful Anglo-Polish co-produced feature film. Following this I enjoyed some success playing small but noticeable parts in quite a number of Polish feature films, films for TV and television programmes.
